Giving Thanks on Giving Tuesday: YWCA Greater Lafayette's Impact
As we enter the holiday season and approach Giving Tuesday, we would like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for all the incredible individuals who support YWCA Greater Lafayette. You are the driving force behind our mission, and we are truly thankful for your unwavering commitment. Today, we want to recognize your dedication and highlight the significant impact you've made in our community.
Since 1929, YWCA Greater Lafayette has been a symbol of progress and advocacy for women and families in our region. We offer a wide range of critical services, from shelter and support for survivors of domestic violence to programs that foster economic independence and leadership. Our commitment is to provide a platform for growth and empowerment, a safe haven for those facing challenges, and a source of inspiration for those who dare to dream.
Your contributions are the lifeblood of our mission. Your donations empower us to reach further, do more, and help more people. They enable us to provide refuge and resources to those escaping abusive situations, offer education and training for economic independence, and promote equality and social justice in our community.
In 2022, your support allowed us to achieve incredible milestones:
We handled 6,740 hotline crisis calls to our 24/7 emergency crisis line, assisting individuals and families fleeing domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
We provided access to no-cost mammograms and health screenings to 2,494 uninsured or underinsured women in a 36-county area stretching from Illinois to Ohio.
We delivered 88 separate presentations to 719 participants in our racial and social justice diversity education programs and workshops.
Consider the profound impact of your support. It's the single mother who, with our assistance, secures a stable job and provides a better life for her children. It's the survivor of domestic violence who finds solace and strength within our shelter, taking steps toward a life free from fear. It's the young girl who participates in our programs, learning to believe in herself and her abilities.
The need for our services is ongoing, and your contributions and support make it possible for us to create change, inspire growth, and build a community where women and families are not just surviving but thriving.
Especially in this time of uncertainty, let us stand in unity. Together, let us uphold and remain committed to our mission of eliminating racism, empowering all women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. As we say at YWCA Greater Lafayette, "Because everyone knows someone!"
We extend our deepest gratitude to you, our supporters, for helping us make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Your dedication is the cornerstone of our mission, and together, we are building a brighter future for our community. Thank you for standing with YWCA Greater Lafayette.
